A Sermon for Passion Week.
Beautiful. Definitely just started crying, and I'm a total atheist. The idea of "Rachel" being every woman crying over her children . . . just beautiful. Definitely passing that on.

@9 it's not about being hot. It's about feeling hot. There's a reason bbw porn exists - the women there are totally comfortable with their plus size (sometimes really plus size) bodies, and feel sexy and confident. You don't need to change your pants size, you need to change your attitude.

We've got our own personal mini-plows for the larger driveways. Snow don't phase us!
@Canuck, you live in AB?? Me too! Calgary or Edmonton?

SL Letter of the Day: Control Issues.
Ok seriously, divorce is not a terribly traumatizing thing for kids to go through. PLENTY of kids grow up with divorced parents (including myself) and end up totally fine. I have to say: I am so glad my parents are divorced, not only because I didn't have to see them fighting all the time, but it also helped me grow as a person (I know, really corny, but it's true). If you've got your reasons for staying in the marriage, fine, that's your choice. But don't do it for the kids. You owe it to your kids to get out.

Good choice on leaving, but yeah, seek help for your alcoholism once you're out. Definitely leave - him beating you is NOT YOUR FAULT.
But don't tell him you're leaving. That's when your risk of serious injury or death is highest - when he knows you're going to leave, or right after you leave. Call a women's shelter crisis line. Make a safety plan. Don't tell anyone where you're going, because he will track you.

It Got Better For Kurt Last Night On Glee.
Their number of Teenage Dream was amazing. The scene where Blaine explains homophobic bullying isn't tolerated at their school and then Kurt just starts crying without saying anything else, made me cry. But . . .
I'm getting really sick of seeing the bully win. So Kurt got to bitch him out. So the bully turns out to be a closeted self-hating homo. But the last scene with the bully involves him shoving Kurt into a locker and Kurt looking so depressed I started crying again. That's it. No official action, the bully doesn't stop, nobody else gets involved . . . there better be some serious repercussions coming up in the storyline!
And the "Courage" text from Blaine was the sweetest thing I've seen on tv in a while.

Some people have said that we don't know if Billy Lucas was gay. Fact is, doesn't matter. He was bullied to death by derogatory language and hateful slurs because people THOUGHT he was gay. As it turns out, the biggest reason kids who commit school shootings do it is because they were bullied, and the most common taunt is being called gay. Next time this happens, it might not be just the bullied kid who gets hurt.
Thank you thank you thank you. I cried.
