Thank you Dan and everyone who helped frame the debate and provide us straight people with such eloquent talking points and reponses to those who were either undecided or were against R-74. I have been so excited and emotional all day. My high point here in Arizona was when my 83 year old snow-bird grandma said rather loudly before her very Republican-conservative cousins "By the way honey, I made sure to vote for R-74 before I left Washington to come down here." So incredibly proud!!!

In Arizona the individual counties get to vote to either give you Columbus Day off and you have to work the day after Thanksgiving or work on Columbus Day and get the day after Thanksgiving off - for those great Black Friday deals. Most of the counties chose to work today and close the day after Thanksgiving.

Now let's just hope that if it is appealed to the US Supreme Court they decide not to hear it and let this decision stand.

The court actually ruled that mandatory life without parole for juvenile homicide offenders is unconstitutional. They did not decide whether there are circumstances under which a juvenile homicide offender could be sentenced to life withouth parole. So it looks like if you are in a state that gives the judge the option of life without parole or something like parole eligibility after 25 years the judge may be able to impose life without parole.

@12

Because if you actually were able to pull this off they can go after you for fraud and bring you up on criminal charges.

Words cannot express what an incredible loving, generous person you are. Because of you your nephew is going to learn love, compassion, and understanding. And all of it will be unconditional. He is incredibly lucky to have an aunt like you. You should be proud of yourself and proud of him for coming out knowing how the family had treated you in the past. I am holding back tears but at the same time smiling knowing there are such wonderful people out there in the world who will make such a difference in the lives of others.
