@19 Well, I think it's totally fair game to assume insurance is NOT an option when the band is asking for fan donations ($50 for a phone call!) even after getting a generous $15K donation from Rhapsody and Amazon. And after posting this I did reach out and confirm—some stuff was insured, a lot of it was not. It sucks for them, absolutely, and I do hope they get it back, but man, that was a lot of gear to have out on the road without any insurance.

And I'm not railing them on the basis of their religion. I don't like the ties to Mars Hill. There is a difference. Mars Hill has proven itself to be a backward-thinking church run by the very homophobic, misogynistic Mark Driscoll, with a history of emotionally abusing its members. That shit ain't cool, and to affiliate oneself with that isn't cool either.

@15 You should look at different insurance places, then. The place I linked to in the post, MusicPro Insurance, has a worldwide policy that will cover instruments at home, in the studio, while in transit to and from shows, and while at a venue. Better options do exist.
