@11, yeah the Brooklyn half last year was awful. They closed the end of the course so spectators couldn't greet family and friends. Also, they restricted what the runners could bring with them and what bag they could use (runners were issued a smallish, cheap, clear plastic bag). I brought clothes, smoothies, sports drinks, fruit and protein bars for my roommate. She would have been fucked if bags had been banned. It was about 40 degrees outside and we were by the water. As it was she had to walk about a mile to get to us after she finished. It was a nightmare for the runners.
The no bag policy may make spectators feel safer but it is bad, bad news for runners and it doesn't stop someone from wearing a suicide vest. Or from building a bomb and dropping it in a garbage can on the route. Nothing's going to be 100% safe and we should stop pretending that if we just do this one thing it'll be okay. It won't.

Yay! Good for Scotland.
Also, I gotta say I'm insanely jealous. I LOVE Scotland and can't wait to get back there. Take a side trip to Edinburgh if you haven't been. It's beautiful and historic and easy to navigate. The highlands are breath-taking. And largely devoid of people if you want to escape humans for a time. (Actually most of Scotland outside of Glasgow and Edinburgh is devoid of people. It's baller.)

This is all so awful. However, if you know a gun is faulty (and loaded) and you put the faulty, loaded gun to your son's head? The death certainly wasn't intentional but this woman is definitely largely to blame for her son's death.
Rules of gun ownership: Never point a gun, even an unloaded gun, at someone unless you intend to shoot them.
Never load a gun unless you intend to shoot it.
If you're not intending to use the gun then the safety should be engaged, the magazine removed and the chamber evacuated. All while the gun is either pointed at the ground or at a wall.
Was the gun faulty? Absolutely. Was this tragic for the family? Absolutely. Did the gun make the family safer? Absolutely not. Were these gun owners responsible with their gun? Absolutely not.

commented on New Cheerios Commercial Raises More Questions Than It Answers
I've been seeing this commercial for months and I don't get any channels on my tv. How has this commercial started something now?
Eh, who cares. I like it. Not nearly as much as the interracial cereal napper one. But still, Cheerios is doing well in the commercials department recently.

I think the uproar is pretty ridiculous but here's my beef: just support your team instead of running down the opponent. I lived in NYC for years and I learned to hate Rangers, Yankees and, to a lesser extent, Giants fans. There's a great deal of overlap in the three groups so I didn't hate as many people as you might expect. However, the hatred comes in because these "fans" aren't content to cheer for their team. Or to celebrate their team. They felt some compulsion to shit on everyone else. I once sat in MSG behind a Rangers fan who'd had a custom t-shirt made in Rangers' colors that read "Crosby Sucks". If you're going to spend $50 on a shirt and then $150 to buy tickets to a hockey game at least support your own damn team. The opportunity to wear that shirt and have it be relevant is very small. Get a King Henry shirt or something. You'll get more mileage. And look like less of a bitter douche.
TLDR; Macklemore stopping acting like a douche and just get a Seahawks jacket.
