Is English the official language of the US? Yes it is. Do we live in a global society that benefits from international trade? Yes we do. Does Seattle and WA State benefit from Pacific trade and tourism? Definitely.

Should the McKenna Campaign fire Ms. Ehl? I leave that decision to the campaign leaders. What I would like to see is Ms. Ehl volunteer for an Asian Community Organization and Senior Community Org. I would rather see people engaged in communication and understanding than fired and left to seething and revenge.

I understand what you are saying. The term "Asian" in the US refers to people from and descendant from anywhere between Pakistan to Hawaii. It is not geographic because we don't call Australians or New Zealanders Asians. 1 term for a group of people that pretty much comprise the majority of the world. That's pretty ignorant of us. We need to address race better in the US. I'm just glad we are starting to phase out Oriental.
