Adam Carolla's schtick is that he's a less funny Colin Quinn. It doesn't matter if The Man Show was satire or not, because its success was entirely in spite of Adam Carolla. Do you remember Too Late with Adam Carolla? Neither do I.

Adam Carolla's character was essentially the one he created that got him on the radio, an old-fashioned kind of cranky working man. Funny or not, it does not mean he is a hateful and bad person. His politics seem much closer to anyone here on Slog than to anyone on Fox.

And yes, I am amazed it even has to be repeated, but the Man Show was satire. Funny how many people say that Adam Carolla is a huge idiot, but his show went totally over so many heads. That being said, the man is pretty washed up and was never that funny, but it does not make him a bad person.

The whole point of the Man Show was to mock/combat female-driven television, not degrade women. People look at the chicks on trampolines and think that's all the show was about. It wasn't. They were mocking mainstream TV the whole time, but people focused on one hyper-sexual aspect (which was really part of the joke). If they called it the Carolla & Jimmy Hour, nobody would have cared about the show. But that's not the point. It was called the Man Show for a reason. Carolla has explained that a thousand times over as well.

This just proves that nobody commenting on here actually listens to Carolla, and just runs with out-of-context sound bites (and that includes Stranger staff).
