Posted by Linda J]]> Fri, 18 Jan 2013 17:57:15 -0800 The Stranger I viewed the film "Odds Against Tomorrow" (1959) by Robert Wise and featuring Belafonte, Robert Ryan (in a particularly nasty role), Shelley Winters and Gloria Graham a mere month or so ago on DVD. Outstanding and ahead of the curve. Belafonte is excellent in the lead role as is the rest of the cast. I can't recommend this movie enough.

I think Belafonte a handsome and greatly talented man. But, I disagree with much of his politics. And, I don't think he needed to harshly insult Gen. Colin Powell years ago (he called Powell a "house slave" in 2002). A few people called him on that. Evidently, he never apologized.
