@11 So far, my favorite is Springfield, IL (Illinois is my home state). Enormous amount of history concerning Lincoln & Douglas. They restored the edifice last summer(?).

I would guess that most cases are prosecuted, it just isnt as news worthy as a dead child. Also anyone convicted of wrongfully discharging a fire arm or violating other firearms regulations will lose their right to own a firearm.

Anyway I think your question regarding prosecution lies with the DA rather than the NRA.

Also how come Eric Holder isn't prosecuting felons who lie on background check form 4473?

And then we have the problem that anybody who wants a gun may have one, regardless of how ignorant they are. Because the bizarre misinterpretation of the Second Amendment that the NRA has promoted in the last 10-15 years says that you can't make gun buyers meet any minimum standards. You have to let any fuckhead who wants one have a gun. Why can't we have mandatory training, and then punish those who don't follow the rules they were taught? Including stripping them of their right to a gun?

The both of you are twisting yourself in knots, pretending on the one hand you believe in responsible gun ownership, while on the other hand pretending that we can't hold gun owners accountable for their actions. And ignoring the role of the NRA in preventing meaningful reform that would make it possible to hold gun owners accountable.

The NRA tries to convince the public that they support enforcing exiting law, while at the same time exerting every influence they have to prevent law enforcement from doing their job. Which explains why most cops support the slate of various gun reforms that have been proposed, in spite of the NRA's lies.

The NRA is the criminal's best friend.
