Well, different strokes for everything. Dahlia certainly has lots to offer a varied constituency but my two cents is this: try the panzanella/bread salad. I have it once a week or so for lunch, 1 1/2 times normal size with a glass of wine and some bread. It's more than enough. Frisee, a little coppa, olives, mozzarella balls, and other goodies. It's healthy, affordable and you can linger or dash. Atmosphere, decorations and service are terrific. I've had longer and bigger dinners with equally impressive results and I've eaten here about 10 times.
But I'll continue. Get it. Eat it. Admire the toasted chunks of coconut. I have never had better, and I have had much, much worse. If you feel motivated, eat something else-- Dahlia is well worth the experience and reasonable for its quality (which is very different from saying it's cheap). I went with a friend and we sampled eachother's food. Every dish perfectly complimented itself-- well-designed so that every flavor fit with every other flavor. Not a bad plate among the six we shared. The food was delicious and the staff helpful and well-coordinated.

Birthdays are meant to be special, and dining at the Dahlia Lounge divine. The beef short ribs melted in my mouth, and were rich, and juicy with flavor! My appetizer of Salmon and Yam pancake, was so delicious, I wanted to make that my meal by ordering a second helping. The service was just wonderful, they attended to my every need. And for the women reading this...the gold and red decor, the soft lights, just made my skin glow, and put me in the mood for l.o.v.e! In a word, I was told I looked 'radiant!' Dine with someone, you want to fall in love with!

This place is great. Great food, creepily excellent service, great ambience and beautifully baked bread.
I ordered a celery root riboletta without even knowing what it was and holy Jesus, was it ever tasty. And the seafood sampler is awesome. I could've eaten a giant bowl of the scallop ceviche. And the grilled octopus, which I assumed I was going to hate since I've never liked anything else that involved the squirmy creature before. Just being in here made us feel fancy, which was really fun. THey also have awesome matchbooks.

Everything I have ever had here is good. Even their french fries with aioli sauce (they give you a HUGE mountain of this). The coconut cream pie is, as everyone else has said, really really good. They are very accommodating to various diets (vegan, vegetarian, etc.) and know their menu very well in terms of ingredients. I'd be eating here all the time if I had the $$$$.

I enjoyed every dish I ordered for lunch here, but then again, I wasn't paying. Unique flavors, bustling, pleasant daytime atmosphere. I remember feeling satisfied and healthy after the meal...not overstuffed but not deprived. I don't remember my main course (this was a while ago) but the grape leaves were excellent.
