A couple about to go on a picnic accidentally runs over a prostitute. For the next hour or so, the prostitute picks at the weak spots in the couple’s relationships, trying to slyly drive a wedge between them. Hooked is made all the more compelling because the camera alternates between each character’s point of view. One moment, we are begging the prostitute to not tell our boyfriend a secret; the next moment we are looking at a woman who has said too much and is trying, in vain, to wheedle us into not destroying her life. The moral ambiguity of it all is delicious.
