From the makers of SIFF 2007’s The Puffy Chair comes this cheapie horror comedy (tagged, unfortunately, as “mumblecore”) about two couples, a trip to a remote cabin to write a screenplay, and the menacing figure stalking them outside the windows. Nailing the feel of ’70s horror flicks—grainy stock, jerky zooms, close-up upon close-up upon close-up—the film is all rather silly, and in the end little more than an elaborate put-on (with the audience being the mark). But it’s at least an entertaining one. (Directors Jay and Mark Duplass scheduled to attend; Baghead is scheduled to open in Seattle theaters on July 18.)
