This futuristic French action flick revolves around a mysterious new technology called “chrysalis,” which has the ability to both erase and implant memories. Director Julien Leclercq (Transit) has obviously spent a lot of time watching Hollywood thrillers—and he has the clichés to prove it—but outside of some pounding action and a handful of interesting ideas, the result is an over-stylized and noisy mess. Even in the Paris of the future, it seems, when a reckless cop hands over his badge, it’s accompanied by a note of thunder on the soundtrack. (Director Julien Leclercq scheduled to attend.)
