This documentary initially looks like the kind of touchy-feely junk that nobody but self-satisfied white Buddhists would be interested in. It begins as a study of openly gay Irish poet Cathal Ó Searcaigh as he makes his regular travels to Nepal. Searcaigh writes most of his poetry in Nepal, and the poetry and travel-porn at first seem eminently genteel. But a pleasantly chilling sense of dread winds through the film, finally exploding into a terrible case of documentarian’s remorse that makes this a truly fascinating story. (Director Neasa Ní Chianáin scheduled to attend.)
