Rightly or wrongly, the many tentacles of Vice’s media empire have a reputation for snark at the expense of content. But this documentary, which follows a heavy-metal band in Baghdad during various points of the American invasion, is excellent. The band, called Acrassicauda, aren't very good, but they love playing heavy metal, and the nauseating fact is that it was easier for them to rock out under Saddam Hussein than under George W. Bush. The glimpses of Baghdad (post Mission Accomplished) are frightening, and the band’s anger toward the United States is palpable.
