A delicious hunk of midnight-movie cheese, Mirageman tells the story of a troubled loner who decides to fight crime. Marko Zaror, as the titular sculpted superhero, gives great action as he cuts through anonymous gang members like the whirling blades of a Cuisinart. Logic occasionally takes a breather as Mirageman escalates his war on evil, but Zaror’s silent intensity as he fights pedophiles and purse-snatchers is hypnotic. Best of all, there’s a real emotional drive for both the hero and in the film, which is more than most Hollywood superhero movies can claim.
