Even if you don’t normally dig hardcore rock, you should know about the poetic, expansive thinkers and musicians known as Fucked Up. More of an apotheosis than a band, Fucked Up borrow from Buddhism, Henry Darger, the Old Testament, feminism, art nouveau, and so much more. Their singer, a bearded mountain of a man, said in a recent interview: “You want [people] to leave the show feeling like they didn’t waste an evening.” An evening with Fucked Up is never an evening wasted.
