perplexed
The previous review sounds harsh, yet I can fully understand where this individual is coming from. We've been active members at Alki UCC for decades. Over the past few years it has become apparent that the pastor is self serving, saying one thing one moment and another later, treating long time members as if we were lucky to be in her presence.
How frustrated we are, we truly love Alki Church, yet will not put up with fraudulent leaders that are fake and insincere.
After sharing our concerns with the pastor she made it clear that she wasn't the problem, it was our family.
Well, think again. We are UCC folk tried and true. If ever an ordained minister acted like she does they got the boot. How is it no one else sees through her facade? She sounds professional, but doesn't walk the walk.
Our boards are spineless against her and puts in place her fan club cheerleaders who twist truths to fit ongoing failures in leadership. When will this nightmare be over?

Quandary
We pay 2 custodians 20,000 annually to keep Alki church clean. They do a great job, work hard, and are dependable!
We pay the pastor 97,000 annually to show up whenever she feels like it; turns worship services into a second rate drama experiment with cheerleaders, crabs about raises, doesn't lead any programs, puts inexperienced puppets into important leadership positions, and preaches once or twice a month, when she feels like it.
How are things at Alki Church, may this be your warning sign to stay far and clear of Diane Darling.
