The Tin Hat is a bar that's a stranger to even long-term Ballard residents. Friends of mine who have lived in Seattle's friendliest neighborhood for years have never even heard of the place! 'Tis a shame, really, because of all the bars I've been to (uh, like... three--tops) it was easily the friendliest and most welcoming. I just so happened to visit on "Moped Monday" (the first Monday of every month), when the Mosquito Fleet (Seattle's premier moped gang) swarms the place. Mopeds, beer, and a bar filled to capacity with friendly folks--that's what I call a good time. MEGAN SELING
