The People's Pub 5429 Ballard Ave NW, 783-6521 The PEOPLE'S PUB is a bar with a split personality. In the front half, it's all '70s rec-room cozy, with teak wood paneling, ancient piles of games, and rickety tables and chairs straight out of your grandma's Midwestern breakfast nook. In the back, the People's is smokier, darker, and often packed, with a long, high bar, ever-changing artwork, and a crowd that's a mix of Sunset Tavern scenesters and Ballard working class. The food (like most of the beers on tap) is German and served 'til 2:00 a.m. ERICA C. BARNETT
