What do you miss the most about home when you're on tour? "Our four cats. We have a pretty awesome roommate who takes care of them, but we worry they'll forget who we are if we're away for too long. One of them has dreadlocks and is getting shaved this summer. Lookin' forward to that!"

Umm, why does your cat have dreadlocks? "[Bassist and girlfriend] Melanie and I found him at the grocery store covered in motor oil. I think he got some nerve damage from licking himself. Anyway, he's just not that bright and he doesn't clean himself too often, so now he's got these dreadlocks. We're gonna give him a lion's cut--just leave his paws and face and shave the rest of him bald."

What's the best (or worst) meal you've had on the road so far? "There are more bad meals than good ones on the road. Yesterday I tried a new 'Country Fried Steak' sandwich from Sonic that was particularly awful. I hate when people put a ton of mayo on stuff without telling you!"

What's the last record you played twice in a row? "Guided By Voices, Isolation Drills. I was tiling a friend's kitchen floor. It had just come out at the time, and I was so impressed with the chorus: 'Hey black girls: I only wanna get you high' [sic]."

What song most reminds you of your teenage years, and why? "Any song off the first Guns N' Roses record. When that came out we all thought, 'Yes! This rules! These guys are gonna be the new Aerosmith!' They ended up sucking shortly after that, but whenever I hear a song from Appetite For Destruction, I remember the power it had over everyone. Made you wanna fuck shit up."
