fresh and good quality but BLAND

I have been ordering takeout for years (yes, even back when they were Panda). The quality of the ingredients is always high. The food is never too greasy. Unfortunately, no matter how many dishes I have tried, I have never found a dish that has truly tasted great. Sure they can make it spicy if you like, but they can't seem to make it flavorful. But, for takeout at least, I know my family is eating a reasonably healthy meal and there's really not much else you can get delivered to Sand Point Way.

Not much competition

Black Pearl has been a neighborhood staple for years and years, at first as Panda's and then as Black Pearl. My opinions of it have varied over the years. I usually prefer Judy Fu's but their delivery completely sucks, and it's a little out of my way for pickup. Anyway - there is nothing else to eat here. If you hear people raving, bear in mind that the other neighborhood dinner options are pub food and an old-timers' spot a half-mile north or grocery store deli. So yeah, we love us some Black Pearl out here in 98115. Reliably itself.

Over rated over rated

I first moved to Wedgewood a couple of years ago and the locals told me how wonderful Black Pearl was. So I tried it. This was some of the worse food I have ever had. There was no flavor in anything I ordered and even the fortune cookie was oddly on the soggy side.

so sad

The food used to be good until we ordered it delivery this past Wednesday and it was the blandest, most pathetic Chinese food we've had all year. This review came out 3 years too late. That's when BP was excellent.

The Best Chinese in Town

If you're looking for some greasy Chinese food, this is not the place. Black Pearl is excellent. The food is always fresh and has amazing flavors. Delivery and dine-in service is always great.

SESAME BEEF!!!!!

You wouldn't believe how many mornings I've woken up knowing exactly what I want for dinner. It's sometimes a burden having to go through the workday thinking about diving into a huge pile of sesame beef and house rolled chow mein. The hardest part is being sneaky and getting to the leftovers before my girlfriend does. Pretty pricey for Chinese, but the flavors make it worth it.
