Buenos Aires Grill (Belltown)

220 Virginia St
Seattle, Washington 98101
(206) 441-7076

Since 2003, the Buenos Aires Grill has been a scene of serious carnivorous celebration: blood sausage, sweetbreads, chorizo, short ribs, Argentinean beef. Weekend nights feature live tango dancing and plenty of noise.

Tango or no tango, this grill has the best steaks cuts in Wa. The filet mignon/prawn dish is hands down the best i`ve ever had. The only negative is the smoke inside, otherwise its a great eat.

Once Great Fun Place, now Past Tense

Buenos Aires Grill was one of my favorite date restaurants. I recently went back to check it out and found it to be quite lacking. I knew something was up when I asked for the Argentinean beer they served and was told they didn't have any. I ordered an appetizer at the bar (calamari) which was one of the worst I have ever had. I then sat down at a table for dinner and started questioning our waitress. She told me that the ownership had changed a year ago and that my favorite Tango dancers (present dancers were lack luster at best.) had left for a job in Cirque de Soleil in Japan. I was ready to just get up and leave at this point but decided to order a meal and see what else had changed. Everything we ordered was sub par except the Filet Mignon which was outstanding as it had been in the past. For the present I would avoid Buenos Aires Grill until they get their act together.

Date Night Fun

Argentina's favorite ingredient, beef, is featured prominently and with more variety than most Seattle vegetarians would like to think possible. Lively atmosphere, nice small bar in which to wait if crowded, and every once in a while, the couple that dances the official dance of Argentina on the bar, Buenos Aires Grill is a nice, expensive place to take dates and out-of-towners. Plus, there's a lot nearby for after dinner fun.
