Yesterday I bought black olives there, as we’ve been doing for last 2 years. A $9 item.
When I opened the vacuum packaging at home; I noticed that it was rotten inside. Product expiration date was stamped as 2010 on the package. As it’s not a fridge item, it meant that it was exposed to high temperature some where in the chain.
No big deal and I took it back for a replacement.

That’s when I faced owner’s incredible rudeness. He was absolutely sure that none of his products can ever be bad. If it’s bad; it’s got to be my mistake. He went on saying that I must have left it under the sun etc. and now I’m trying to cheat him. I asked him one clear question; “I’ve been a Byblos customer for 2 years. You know that I buy these olives from here every month. My monthly business to Byblos is at least in $100 range. Now why would I lie to you today for $9?” He didn’t even get the absurdity of the situation his insane insult created. He kept ranting his crazy implications, clearly accusing me that I’m a liar.
I simply informed him that he just lost me on the spot as a customer. He said he doesn’t care at all.

A complete sick mentality who should never get out of stone age cave.
If you are or if you become a regular customer there; one day inevitably you’ll face a similar product problem. When you face the same ugly insult on that day just remember; you were warned.

If you sit there long enough

If you sit there long enough after you've finished your falafel, the very nice man will bring you some free Turkish coffee. Especially if it's freezing and snowy outside.
