Restaurant Details

  • Cafe Vignole is the kind of neighborhood gem that South Seattle needs. It’s cozy, adorable, affordable, and friendly. More importantly, it’s good—not graded-on-a-curve, a-nice-addition-to-the-neighborhood good, but really good. It’s destination good. And since it’s practically in Renton, that’s saying something. The pasta and the baby back ribs are especially great.
  • Features: Cheap Eats
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Serving Hours: Tues-Thurs 5-10 pm, Fri-Sat 5-10:30pm

Still great --

A very special place. A most unlikely spot for a great restaurant but there it is. We go as often as we can. We don't live nearby but head there more often than anywhere else. People we've taken and people we've referred have always it enjoyed it too.

We've been to Cafe Vignole many times over the last couple of years. It's always good...the portions are generous (sometimes we just share a salad and a pizza so we have room for dessert). I had the halibut special last week...it was great. Italian wines, we just ask Sandro for a recommendation and it is always great! Sandro, Nancy and team make you feel comfortable. Oh, and the desserts, YUM!

Always great food

My husband and I have been going to this restaurant since it opened a couple of years ago. It's a true neighborhood treasure! Sandro, Nancy the kids and their extended family make everyone feel welcome. The more they succeed, the better...because we hope the great food at Cafe Vignole stays around for a long, long time.

I love this cafe! My family eats there about 2x per week. We have tried everything on the menu and it's great. We don't mind the small wait since everything is made to order. The owners are very friendly. The place is also very kid friendly. They paid a lot of attention to our kids and
made sure they were happy. We tell everyone.

We live in the neighborhood and have dined at this restaurant 2x. Both times we really had a wonderful time. The ambience is just right, the chef and waiter friendly, and attentive. My partner had the pasta with prociutto and mushrooms. Slightly spicy and and just right.. I had the ribs. Really delicious. Both were very generous in size. Enough for lunch tomorrow. THe bread was also very good quality. The acoustic guitar with vocals by Bryant were more than pleasing.. his performace complemented our dining experience perfectly!
Go... you won't be sorry.

I'm torn - keep it a secret or not?

I've just found my favorite new restaurant! Awesomely prepared dishes, great value, good music, and super-friendly host Sandro are already a neighborhood treasure. I don't want the secret to get out (so we can always get a table), but Cafe Vignole deserves to be around for a long time. So, go! You'll love it.

The Best Italian Restaurant In South Seattle

Tonight was the first time I have visited Cafe Vignole". Wow! What an outstanding dining experience. The food, wine and desserts were amazing. The owner was friendly and very accommodating. We started out with brushetta which was the best we have had in Seattle. We enjoyed pasta, wine and dessert. Everything was amazing. The portions were huge and the prices very reasonable while enjoying real Italian cuisine. Vince's Italian Restaurant in South Seattle cannot hold a candle to this restaurant. I will be returning next week with friends. You have got to try it!! A truly wonderful experience!

GREAT PLACE!

I love the food and the owners are great. It is so kid friendly and the ambiance just makes you feel like home and you never want to leave after you eat. My husband and I go at least 2 days a week. It's worth not cooking at home for a few days since the price is right. You get super sized servings so plenty to take for the lunch the next day. What a bargain. I really hope they stay in the neighborhood for good. Try it!

Italian gem!

We visited Cafe Vignole for the first time and had fabulous experience. Everything we ate (seafood ravioli, antipasto and freshly made pizza with homemade sausage) was excellent and the owners were wonderful. A talented jazz pianist added nice ambiance. Overall, it's a great place with a lot of soul. Can't wait to go back!

Will Return

We have been to Cafe Vignole' seveal times. All positive experiences, with great food, nice wine, and very freindly, homey and warm service. The cakes, especially the "black eyed pea cake" ( I know it sounds crazy) is the best I have ever had. Sorry mom.
