I used to frequent Minnie all the time. I moved away from Seattle for 8 years. One of my first stops once I moved home was going to be Minnies :( I'm totally in shock and completely saddened by the news.

Minnie's is in the right place with that ever-evaporating independent dive flair. The service is going to be slow, but the food is worth the wait...especially if you are drinking with friends. The tomatoe basil, the croisant french toast, the perfect pick me up before, during or after a long night out.

I hadn't been back to Minnies since I was stationed on the USS Nimitz in 1996, and couldn't wait to go back on a recent visit for a Frank Sinatra Omellette, black coffee and the best scones I've ever tasted, and you know what? I was thoroughly satisfied. I'm not sure what the previous posters were complaining about, I for one will always make a trip to Minnies whenever I'm back in Seattle.

Seattle is changing. Everywhere I look some new Hipster Bar with people I can't fucking stand talking about innane bullshit. Then there is Minnie's. Minnie's is the place to go when you're drunk, tired, pissed off, or generally want to escape Seattle's ever worsening city scape. True, you old die hard Minnie's fans won't see cigarette stained ceillings nor will you see shitty grey carpet. The floor is now nice tile. The walls a rediculous purple. But you know what has not changed? The food. Still the best goddamn bowl of tomatoe basil soup on the planet. Shitty service? Why do you think I'm going to Minnie's.
