Capitol Offense

Monday, April 11, a highly touted stem-cell research bill was defeated in the senate, 26-23. Dems Tim Sheldon (D-35) and Jim Hargrove (D-24) stiffed their caucus, as they did on gay rights, joined by Mark Doumit of rural Southwestern Washington (Senate Majority Leader Lisa Brown also voted against, though she did so as a tactical move to keep the bill alive). --SK
