Right next door to the Stumbling Monk, a bar with two decks, a slight nautical theme, and fried chicken and waffles (yes!). The apostrophe was lost at sea.

Make up your mind. Bars don't advertise chicken, waffles, and po'boys up and down the street and restaurants don't have shady twenty-somethings at the door demanding I.D. from 40 year olds.

There are several dozen more welcoming places within walking distance that cut the attitude and don't treat their customers like potential gang bangers. It's a pity Captain Blacks can't figure out who their customers are, because I really wanted to try the chicken and was looking forward to a cold beer on the patio.

Oh god, if I wasn't excited enough, I just found out they show Sounders games and have free WiFi. I'd scrub the poop deck to keep this place open.

Pros:
Large deck!
$8 Rainier pitchers, inexpensive beer
$4 fries w/good dip choices (liked 5/6 of them)
$60 champagne bottle. I won't ever order it unless I get way too drunk, but I appreciate that it's there, in case I really do get too drunk.
Great service from the lady there (not sure if there is more than one).

Cons:
Limited (and strange) beer selection. See menu.
$11 chicken and waffles is worth at least one try, but price is off-putting for drunken munchies. Otherwise I liked it.
That Half Price Books sign is a bit bright at night...

Set 3 sheets to the wind for Cap'n Blacks! When ordering $8 pitchers, tip big! I'm rooting for Cap'n Black too!

I stopped in last night for my first time. I love what they've done with the space, particularly the outdoor deck, but I do have concerns.

I had the chicken po-boy and chips and was very impressed with the seasoning and flavor of the chicken however, I found the bread to chicken ratio to be way off. I enjoyed the bread but there was just too much of it, too many bread only bites. This brings me to my second concern... the price. I think $10 for essentially two chicken strips is too expensive. I think adding a chicken strip to each half would remedy both of this problems.

While I loved the flavor of the chicken, I cannot see ordering it again at the same price unless more chicken is added. Hopefully they are open to making some adjustments. I'm rooting for you Cap'n Black!
