Without ignoring the mediocrity of indie jerks Wood and studio queen Mariah Carey, we've singled out Iron Maiden's Ed Hunter and Barbra Streisand's A Love Like Ours as Columbia Records' two most worthless October releases. Iron Maiden's album is a three-disc retrospective of their 20 most popular pubescent angst anthems. Apparently, Columbia figured that Iron Maiden's apocalyptic jingles would strike a chord just before the millennium -- unfortunately, the old devil-thrash sounds as forced and Halloween-y in 1999 as it did in the '80s.

Streisand is pumped because she's finally found true love (she swears this time is different) with Pee-Wee's Big Adventure co-star James Brolin. A Love Like Ours is basically a collection of pictures and love songs from their wedding and honeymoon. Just pop in the CD and flip through the liner notes and your indifference will quickly turn to disgust as you look at pictures of the happy couple kissing in bed and listen to Barbra sing about her new orgasms.

But for those of you who absolutely must have a bad release by an over-the-hill artist, here's how these two stack up:
