Best Music in West Seattle

The Swell is a great pub. Very good food. Worth it just to come for dinner. A nice variety of beers on tap and the bartenders mix a good drink too. And the Swell has two of the best solo Irish performers in Seattle. Erin McNamee plays every Wednesday, you don't want to miss her beautiful voice. And Mingus O'Bannon plays about every other weekend. He brings an energy and grittiness to his performances that is of laking in this city of laid-back musicians. Oh, the view is wonderful. Great place to come with a group or by yourself on a rainy day for lamb stew and Guinness.

My neighborhood pub

I love, love love this place. I am here at least 3-4 times per week for dinner - the best food on the beach, consistent, homemade, delicious. I bring my friends and family, there is no other place I'd rather hang out on Alki. I've read a couple of mean comments and can say that it must be from a disgruntled employee or someone who was kicked out of the pub for bad behavior. The staff is really cool and professional and I've had a chance to talk to both owners who are kind, down to earth and really generous. I hate it when people lie about a really cool business, one that we really love and need on Alki.

AWESOME: Best Pub in West Seattle

I must say, this place has become an Alki staple. The food is, arguably, the best in West Seattle. You get HUGE portions of the freshest, most delicious homemade food. I've never, ever had a bad meal here - and I can't say the same for nearly any other restaurant in W.S. The drinks are amazing, the staff is incredible. A few months back, they had a few really horrible serving and bartending staff who were rude (and I've actually seen a couple of them show up employed at other W.S. establishments - YEESH) - but the current management and staff is TERRIFIC, professional, beautiful - and I've only had the best experiences here. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this pub - for a meal with your family or just to have drinks with friends.

Good food great views

I love the swell, the staff is friendly and some of the hottest girls on the beach. The shepeards pie is awesome and I had a drink called an Irish rootbeer, the bomb. Anyway the last review seemed personal and mean , I go there all the time and have never had any problems. Its the only real pub on the beach.

hearty fare and kickass view

Not for the faint of heart. Thick cheddary soups, mashers, beast, Guinness. Definitely one of the better hangouts along this section of beach. Pleasant atmosphere, laidback service (sometimes painfully so, but somehow I forgive them), yummy and authentic food. Perfect rainy day bar.

Hurry before the kitchen closes

order some bar snacks and enjoy your next few beers and cocktails while the staff manages to balance very attentive and casually laid back. Awesome staff. Great live shows. Great out of the way place. Try their cosmo. Super!

Fries with coleslaw and baked beans? I'm in!

The Swell is a nice little place to meet, especially in the winter when the bad weather keeps the fairweather visitors away, and the owners are top notch folks. I love their french fries (chips!) with the baked beans and coleslaw on top, but I know folks who are partial to the curry version. I would probably add another $ to the pricing tho - sometimes it seems I don't get out of there all too cheaply. Must be the rounds of Irish Whiskey....
