5 is not enough

I've been meaning to post a retraction for years...cupcake quality and innovation at Cupcake Royale have increased immeasurably.
Furthermore, Cupcake Royale is an exceptional small business that values their employees and our local community.
(I made the above post on 8/9/2008 before I knew the details of Royale's business practices.)
If you want to make a delicious and positive choice concerning cupcakes then look no further than Cupcake Royale.

"Royale" must be French for dry, grainy, and boring.

For a place with "Cupcake" in the name, you'd expect the cupcakes to be decent. And they are! The top half of the cupcake is decent - but once the frosting is gone, you've got a dry, grainy, bland disc of barely-cohesive crumbs that barely deserves to be called 'cake' that actually causes one to deliberate "should I finish eating this dessicated, tasteless mass of 'product', or should I throw it away?"

And for something called "Cupcake Royale", that's a pretty sad state of affairs.

Laughable!

Okay the frosting is pretty good stuff but "would you like that in chocolate or vanilla" does not qualify the description of astonishing range. And while it is pretty slick to con people out of $2.50 for an undersized portion of baked batter there is nothing unpretentious about doing so. Take your hard earned dough down the street to Bakery Noveau where they turn out some proper baked goods.
