DIVERSIONS

THURSDAY 12/28

WILDROSE 16th ANNIVERSARY AND REUNION PARTY--Seattle's only women's tavern celebrates 16 years with entertainment, memorabilia, and old friends. Patrons are encouraged to bring photographs of past Wildrose events and should be prepared to tell stories and provide anecdotes. Wildrose, 1021 E Pike St, 324-9210, 6 pm.

SATURDAY 12/30

2001: A BBW DANCE ODYSSEY--This event may be sponsored by the Big Beautiful Woman Trust, but this size-positive (there's a new one for your list of politically correct terms) singles bash is a free-for-all for the epic-proportioned and the slim novella alike. Golden Steer Banquet Hall, 23826 104th Ave SE, Kent, 350-1212, 8 pm-midnight, $15.

BOYZ NIGHT--Lambert House hosts this gathering for queer youths aged 14-22. Lambert House, 1818 15th Ave, 322-2515, 8 pm.

SUNDAY 12/31

FIREWORKS--After last year's lame-ass, fraidy-cat Y2K clampdown on our beloved annual Space Needle fireworks display, this year promises to be more spectacular than ever, with over 1,500 pyrotechnic effects. Big deal. Our mayor is still a jerk. Space Needle, midnight.

TUESDAY 1/2

HOW BORED ARE YOU?--If the answer to that this Tuesday afternoon is "pretty bored," then a tour of Safeco Field may be just what you need. Tours last about an hour and include intimate glimpses of not only the field, but the press box, clubhouse, suites, and Diamond Club as well. Safeco Field, 12:30-2:30 pm. Call 346-4241 for info.
