Now in its 13th year, Dine Out for Life continues as an ironclad win-win situation: On Thursday, April 27, citizens can raise money for Lifelong AIDS Alliance simply by allowing professionals to feed them. The list of this year's participating venues—featuring over 150 local restaurants, each of which will donate a good portion of their night's proceeds to LAA—offers something for everyone. On the schmancier end, there are such places as Le Pichet, Matt's in the Market, Crush, Campagne, and Rover's. On the thriftier end, there are such favorites as Hattie's Hat, Bimbo's Bitchin' Burrito Kitchen, Bleu Bistro, the Globe, and Pagliacci Pizza. In between, there are a hundred others. (For the full list of participating restaurants, see www.diningoutforlife.com.)

Beyond Thursday, Ballard's Madame K's Pizza (5327 Ballard Ave NW) offers an ongoing opportunity for diners to send a message with their orders. Fueled by frustration over South Dakota's recent decision to ban virtually all abortions, Madame K's will donate 50 cents from every Orgasm—their sassy, baked-to-order chocolate-chip cookie à la mode—to Planned Parenthood. When God provides an opportunity to support women's rights through gooey dessert, only fools say no.
