The second annual Incredible Feast, where local chefs team with local farmers to create fresh, seasonal, and no doubt transcendent dishes, hits the Phinney Neighborhood Center on Sunday, August 20 starting at 5:00 p.m. Even more exciting than the event's list of assembled chefs—from Boat Street Cafe, Cascadia, Crémant, Crush, Lark, and the Harvest Vine, to name just a few—is the event's primary purpose: to celebrate and showcase the work of stalwart and dedicated local farmers and foragers. Guests can buy fresh produce direct from the farmers and partake in "county-fair-style games." All ticket proceeds go toward the 2007 opening of the Phinney Neighborhood Farmers' Market. (Phinney Neighborhood Center, 6532 Phinney Ave N, 632-5234 or www.seattlefarmersmarkets.org, $50 adult/$10 children ages 3–12, tickets available at www.brownpapertickets.com or at the center.)

Another promising event takes place on Wednesday, August 23 at 6:00 p.m., when Wine & Spirits magazine hosts its inaugural "Hot Picks" tasting. Fifty wines, all priced $25 and under and hand selected by the magazine's critics, will be available for tasting. (Palace Ballroom, 2100 Fifth Ave, $53–$105, tickets available at www.acteva.com/go/seattlehotpicks.)
