Erica C. Barnett rss

barnett@thestranger.com

Erica C. Barnett writes about city politics and transportation for a fanatical audience of five. An avid bicyclist and a former vegan, she has been voted both the biggest hippie and the most heterosexual female at the Stranger. Like many Stranger staffers, she came to the paper from Seattle Weekly, but unlike most of her cohorts, was not fired. Before moving to Seattle, Barnett was news editor at the Austin Chronicle. She has a degree in philosophy from the University of Texas and has won awards from the Society of Professional Journalists and the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies. Her favorite Monkee is obviously Michael Nesmith. (And the “C” stands for “quality.”)
