Bar Details
The Revolution Bar (formerly Liquid Lounge) offers a look at the undulating interior of Gehry's building without an entrance fee. Like everything EMP, it is bright, expensive, confusing, and ridiculous. The bar summarizes the EMP in a nutshell: the product of terrible planning (note the steep-staircase entrance and death-plummet balcony) and excessive spending. Such excess does have its finer qualities, of course: a tower of alcohol at your immediate disposal, coupled with occasional free entertainment. Closes early.
Fantasy: Worlds of Myth and Magic: The nerdiest new permanent exhibit in Middle-earth features costumes, props, and original manuscripts from some of our favorite mythical adventures, including The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, The Wizard of Oz, Harry Potter, and Xena: Warrior Princess.
Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion, Power: An exhibit dedicated to the “foremothers” of rock and their offspring. Organized by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, unmissable items include Madonna’s Blond Ambition Tour Bustier and Lady Gaga’s meat dress.
