Tonkatsu Curry!
A perfect homey place for the ultimate Japanese comfort food. Their tonkatsu curry hits the spot on a cold Seattle afternoon. The bento lunch specials are also a yummy kickin' deal.

Ninja Sushi
Most people don't even notice Ha Na. Its such a small hole in the wall of place.
The food however, rocks. They have some of the best sushi I've had for less than painful prices. Everything from the Unagi down to your simple, but awesome California rolls.
Great or not, you better have the stoicsim of Rome on your side for the wait.

Japanese comfort food, hold the Wasabi...
It doesn't look like much, but if you don't have a lot of cash and are Jonsin' for a sushi or teriyaki fix, this is the place to go. Wasabi haters beware! I am not a fan of the spicy green demon paste and found out the hard way, the first time I went, that they automatically smear wasabi on the inside of their sushi rolls unless you ask them not to! They have no problem making it without, you just have to remember to ask.

Totally decent sushi
They always do me right.
And thanks for the tip about asking them to hold the wasabi. It never even occurred to me to ask. And always felt kinda ridiculous having to dip the fish in the glass of water for my 5 year old who loves sushi.

Lovely convinent Caphill Japanese
I must agree with a previous poster the single best reason to go to Hana is to get the kasu curry don on a cold rainy day. It is a big bowl of rice with katsu smothered in brown Japanese curry. Their sushi is reasonable but not the best that can be had in Seattle. I was unimpressed with their yakisoba but their udon is quite nice.

Always Good
Hana is a Seattle institution. I have been going there since they opened which was a long, long time ago. Teriyaki don is a great inexpensive lunch, the sushi is always excellent and super fresh, Tempura is decent... overall, one of the best. I have never been disappointed.

Woo-ha
Great all around! Showed up at 7 on a Saturday night and there was no line for tables the whole time we were there. Fish was amazing - delicious, fresh, flavorful. Sake even more amazing. Try the unfiltered stuff. Reasonable prices.

crappy quality
we just went down to hana in search of some decent sushi on broadway. sadly, we were terribly disappointed with two dishes (chirashi and the sashimi bento) - both of which utterly lacked in quality.
the chirashi was stuffed in an overly small bowl with oversized chunks of poor sashimi that was too cold to enjoy. i made it through a few pieces, but couldn't stomach the whole dish.
the sashimi bento included giant chunks of fish, along with teriyaki chicken that could leave one at a loss for a positive adjective to use.
if you're looking for a quick california roll, this place will probably work. if you want sushi, go to maneki or chiso.

rip off on takeout portions
I just finished eating my $9 takeout sushi lunch special and I am starving!! The nigiri had nuggets of rice the size of a quarter hiding under it, and the cucumber "roll" was only 2 pieces... what a rip off!!
