Happiest Hour

Quarter Lounge

Happiest Hour

kelly o

Description: A neighborhood dive bar located on First Hill, where it rests in a lovely old building whose interior is sunny and gloomy all at once, and which somehow seems haunted even though it isn't.

The theme: New Orleans, as evidenced by the bar's name (which references the French Quarter) and the decor (Mardi Gras beads, Harlequin masks).

What's inside: A couple of very bright, very huge sports-broadcasting TVs in prominent locations, which is great if you're into football. If you're not, you may find yourself staring into the section of air that hovers just before the screen, while scrutinizing distant memories.

Happy hours: Daily 4–7 pm, Sun–Thurs 11 pm–close.

Happy-hour drink specials: $3 wells, $3.75 micros (rotating selection includes Pipeline Porter, Three Skulls Ale), $2.75 domestics (Bud Light, Pabst).

Happy-hour food specials: None, but the snacks are darned cheap ($1 microwave popcorn, $2 corn dogs).

What else: Free pool on Wednesdays! recommended

I love this place, Ian the bartender is awesome. Corn dogs are totally worth their price tag.

I knew the owner when he was a waiter on Broadway. See you tonight!
