Dashboard Confessional
Mon Sept 5, Mainstage, 2:15–3:30 pm.

In 2001 former Further Seems Forever singer Chris Carrabba released his second full-length under the name Dashboard Confessional. On that breakout album, titled Places You Have Come to Fear the Most, he exposed his shattered heart to millions, rewriting the miserable dumped-dude narrative with clichéd metaphors and the kind of dramatic simplicity only a teenager could truly appreciate. And boy did those wussies eat it up. Dashboard Confessional have gone on to sell millions of records, filling venues with insanely devoted adolescents who sing along to every line and feel every ounce of Carrabba's bottomless pain as he croons about loves long lost but never, ever forgotten.

Carrabba's Bumbershoot appearance will certainly pack 'em in like baby sardines once again, so if you want front-row action, you'll need to get to Memorial Stadium plenty early on Monday. But what to do in those seemingly endless hours you'll spend waiting for Mr. Carrabba? Dashboard Confessional Mad Libs, of course!

It's super easy. First, fill in all the blanks in Part One with the kind of word called for. (No peeking at the song below!) Next, plug 'em into the corresponding blanks in Part Two, and your new song is complete! Now all you need is an acoustic guitar, a pompadour, and full-sleeve tats, and every 16-year-old/35-year-old-still-living-with-mom heart in the house will be yours. (Feel free to encourage your friends to sing along to your new lyrics when Carrabba kicks into the original "Screaming Infidelities" on stage).
