Show some effort

My girlfriend and I stopped in for lunch, very much looking forward to having another nice georgetown eatery, nearby. When we first got there, the staff was all over us, asking about coffee, cocktails and our lunch order. If they offer it, I have to order one: I had the pulled pork sandwich. It's my litmus test. When it comes to sandwiches (and burgers), if the chef doesn't consider the bun/bread part of the equation, they're doomed. The bun and baguette were like inflated pieces of Wonderbread. They deflated within seconds. The pulled pork was smokey, but the sauce tasted like Tabasco & ketchup. They put the coleslaw on the sandwich, helping the bun get pasty and fall apart from the watery mixture.
My gf's burger was dry. But, the fries that came with both sandwiches were great. Unfortunately, great fries does not a meal make. After they dropped the sandwiches off, we never saw them again. No "how is everything" or "can I get you anything else". I had to get up, go to the bar and ask for the check.
I'd like to give them another chance, but between Skylark, Eats and Pig Iron, that's unlikely.

It's right off of 99 and it comes around the corner quickly, making you turn back and wonder what you just saw. They serve espresso, breakfast, lunch and dinner, with American home-style cooking. They have awesome beer! Including the Speakeasy White Lightning beer, which was fresh and crisp awesomeness. I had their special of pan fried chicken breast on a bed of mashed potates with vegetables. The meat was so tender and it meshed so amazingly well with the potates and veggies (I know, sounds ho-hum, but it was great!). Thge clientele was an interesting mixture of Georgetown hipsters and Harley bike riders. The evening summer sun beats through the windows though; perhaps they might invest in fans or blinds.
