Though its lodged between other hole in the wall eateries, and you may have to park on a side street; I'd readily recommend to stopover Inay's for lunch, dinner, or carry out Asian food when in the UDistrict: fair prices, ok portions, ample seating and several kinds of tasty common Filipino (or Pinoy) dishes. Start with Sinigang sour vegetable & meat soup. Pork dishes seem to predominate most days like the grilled skewered pork (it really have its unique taste). But there are other mainstays; chicken/beef/pork Adobo (meat in soysauce/garlic/vinegar); Fried Lumpia (small meat eggroll w/dip sauce). All these go well with Filipino rice as your carbo on a Lunch Special or ala carte. You might order Pansit Palabok as a meal by itself (noodle topped w/ seafood sauce, powdered pork rind, fried garlic,etc). If you're not sure what it is just ask. On a hot day complete your meal w/ the satisfying, signature Philippine desert HALO-HALO(crushed ice w/ fruits, yam & condensed milk) It didn't get 5 stars because some days they are closed inexplicably; so call first.
