Not sure why "Go_ahead_and_try" didn't like Katy's quiche. It varies based on what's in it, but last Sunday was asparagus and it was delicious.

She also hand bakes most of her pastries- ranging from coffee cake to scones to biscuits.

Sandwiches are delicious and bargain-priced. If going in on Sunday, skip the brunch and go for the ham and egg sandwich instead. While both are delicious, the brunch is $12-14 and the sandwich just $4.25.

Brunch on Sundays is a relatively new addition and includes: quiche, bacon, breakfast diced potatoes, fresh fruit and a cup of orange juice. $12 for drip coffee or $14 for any espresso beverage included in your meal.

You will definitely "find yourself knowing more and more of what makes the Central District adorable as you sit there on your laptop, making new friends." Don't miss Katy's handcrafted cups!

good food in a tiny spot

As we work on gentrifying the Central District, many new businesses will come and go...fluxing with the expendable income of the new transplants and taking a hit when they over-reach or over-spend. Katy's took over the good work that Cafe Stellina started in that location, and has gone one better. Although the quiche is NOT good (the one major failing) the sandwiches and soups offered by Katy are delicious, well-made, and reasonably priced. The tuna pita, in specific, is an entire can of white albacore tuna, perfectly mixed up with mayo and crisp lettuce in a fresh pita pocket. The macchiato is perfect. The drip is just right. Most importantly, the atmosphere is friendly and charming...you are really a part of the neighborhood at Katy's, and you will find yourself knowing more and more of what makes the Central District adorable as you sit there on your laptop, making new friends.
