Three cuisines fuse under the heading of Malaysian food: the intense sweetness possible in Chinese food; the slower, more lumbering heat and weight of Indian; and the brightness of Thai that we identify with cilantro and fish sauce. At Malay Satay Hut, you should try the Belachan okra (okra sautéed in pungent shrimp paste) and maybe a whole steamed fish. But you must get the roti canai—the heavy, floppy, slightly crispy Indian flatbread is golden, while the sauce is sweet, salty red curry with soaked potatoes hiding below the surface. The potatoes in the roti canai sauce are so good, you might want to keep their existence to yourself and sneakily eat them all.

fantastic

For those of us who like adventure but want to see what we'll be eating, their menu has accurate and enviting pictures. The mood of the restaraunt is suprisingly upscale being that it's located in a corner strip mall. You can feel the pride taken in their food. My boyfriend and I had the roti canai which was as everyone else has said FREAKIN AWESOME. Get your own order it's only 3.50 you won't want to share. My boyfriend ordered the Malaysian Chinese Pork chops- nice and tangy with a pleasant and building heat. I had the frog legs in ginger sauce also great. Portions were ample, service was good.

Mouthwatering goodness

I go to the Malay Satay Hut at least twice a month. I always need to have a game plan, or my friend and I will end up ordering 5 dishes. We ALWAYS order a roti canai individually because we're unwilling to share the curried potato appetizer. I disagree with the reviewer , and have had many occasions of ordering just veggie options. The veggie curry pot, belechan greens, mango tofu, and oh so many more. There are great meat options too; pork chops, sambal chicken, buddhist yam pot. All great. I brought a Malaysian friend there, and she said that it was authentic and made her miss home. This pan-asian cuisine is tasty, the staff friendly, the service excellent, and food comes out QUICKLY! In fact, I think I may need to call in right now .... But first I'll have to stop salivating.

Fabulous

Great spicy Indian food. Actually more geared towards achieving the authentic taste than what I have seen around her. They use the right spices in the right mix. Try the Roti Kanan -absolutely delicious. The Mango chicken is pretty good if you like a touch of sweet with your spices

Yummy!

I love this place so much. I always bring adventurous out of towners here and they are always impressed by the unique flavors here. Start out with roti, order the mee goreng and mee rebus! The buddhist yam pot and the mango shrip are great as well. Not recommended for vegetarians.
