Manhattan (formerly known as Manhattan Drugs) is a nouveau-style steakhouse-and-bar on 12th near Pike. The decor might be described as reclaimed posh—tufted upholstery, patterned wallpaper, exposed wood ceiling, golden-horned taxidermy art—and the menu is laden with steakhouse standbys. Economy, schmeconomy—steaks range from $29 to $52, and the budget option here is a $17 Painted Hills hamburger with tomato jam, white cheddar, truffle aioli, arugula, and fried leeks. Khampaeng Panyathong (Grim’s, Spring Hill, the Herbfarm) is the executive chef; Mark Bowman (Grim's) is doing the cooking. [Original marquee owner Laura Olson—the entrepreneur behind Po Dog, Auto Battery, Grim’s, etc.—became officially no longer involved after five months.]

Drugs Indeed

I went there for brunch this last weekend and it was amazing. I tried the chicken and waffles while a friend had the veggie scramble. The food, price, service... bloody mary, all of it was excellent. I'm looking forward to going back for dinner.
