Best Steak Ever

Of course, I nearly always only order the Kobe beef when I come here, so it's hard to get a bad steak. Generous portions and exemplary service make a trip to the Met something to look forward to every time!

Get a sharper knife

Tough low quality piece of meat. You could not pay me to eat there again.

Delicious

I'm sorry to say, I've been going to the Met off and on for the past 10 years for special occasions and dinners. Never have been disappointed. Sure some days the food tasted better than others, but overall the best steak I've had in Seattle. (compared to El Gaucho, Daniel's, Jak's, Morton's, Ruth Chris) So ignore the pessimists who can't just eat a good slab of meat and enjoy it.

Rip off #2

I work in the food service so I'm not very picky. During dinner I was charmed by the predictable ambiance made of green velvet, gold railings and a waiters with ties. And I didn't mind the silly guy in a tuxedo lurking around talking up a $20 bottle of wine for $75. The problem was when I got home and was feeling sick, all those memories became suspect. 3 hours later when I was hugging the toilet and wishing ate elsewhere. My god, PLEASE throw it out if it's past date!! I am very disappointed in this place that specializes in meats AND that serves it with a very high price tag. I have no idea how they have maintained a good reputation. Give me a break! There are TONS of fantastic restaurants in Seattle, but don't let the allure Metropolitan fool you. And when I called to let them know about my "experience" they were much less than sincere, and apologized only because they had to. I'll pick vegetarian place next time. Or anywhere else and be much richer for it.

Rip-Off

Oudated photos of has-been celebs and athletes cover the walls of this cheesy dinosaur. Surround yourself with stuffy a-holes mixed with techno-geeks on Microsoft expense accounts for the most overpriced steak west of the Mississippi. As long as pretentious clowns like to feel special by being overcharged for a medicre staek, this joke of a restaurant will thrive for years.

Best Steak In Seattle

I haven't been there for a while because I haven't been on an expense account - and you need to be at this place. But it's the real thing. SO SO SO much better than El Gaucho (run for the hills). Of course everything is OTT here in the tradition of the steak house. But don't be scared and just dig into that eight pound baked potato.
