Website

Mulleady's is a low-key, two-story neighborhood place in Magnolia with a collection of Irish knickknacks and a fireplace. The food is more gastro than grub, with seasonal ingredient emphasized—e.g., in the springtime, a savory rhubarb tart with goat cheese, roasted garlic, and pine nuts, or grilled salmon with fiddleheads. But for those who like the basics, Mulleady's also serves beer-battered true cod fish and chips, a Guinness beef pot pie, and a reportedly great burger made with grass-fed beef, tomato jam, and caramelized onions. Happy hour happens twice daily, with $4-$5 appetizers, select $4 imperial pints, and wine and cocktail specials.

Delicious

The cocktails are amazing, and I think their food is great. Highlights: smoked ricotta on the chopped salad, duck fat potato chips, and house poutine. I've been there 4 or 5 times now, and the staff has been friendly and attentive each time.

Rude Service, Bad Food - Fail

I've had better fish in Iowa. In fact, I've had better fish at Dennys.

The ambiance was OK until we spoke to the bartender, who was offended that we would wait in the bar for a table - after the waitress asked us to wait in the bar for a table.

The decor is nice, but the food was not good and service was unpleasant.

Mulleady's COMPLETELY FAILED ***OTHER LOCAL PUBS FAR BETTER***

I regret inviting my friends to celebrate my birthday at boring & bad-service Mulleady's. ***IT WAS MY FIRST TIME THERE AND I SEE NO REASON NOT TO MAKE IT MY LAST.***

The incredibly slow staff was not attentive enough to manage separating our bill as agreed & messed-up 1/2 our orders. Half of us never received offer of drink refills & my meal was more fat than meat.

There are 2 great locations inside Mulleady's for live music, but on a Saturday night they played the same mid-quality jazz CD all night long & too loud; one would think to get at least canned Irish/Scottish traditional music or rock in a purportedly Irish PUB.

When I wrote the owner a 5-paragraph *business letter* to let him know my complaints, he jotted an 18 word response on it & sent me a photocopy only casually saying 'thanks for my *note*' and to get a hold of him at his convenience.

I've seen better service & professionalism at McDonald's or a 7-year-old's lemon-aid stand. I get the impression they don't know the first thing about the food/drink industry or business in general.

If you want interior, service, quality food, and live Celtic music, I suggest absolutely steering clear of Mulleady's bad-service poseur-Irishy restaurant. If you want to go to a real pub that has heart, life & spirit, go to Kells, Terrible Beauty, Fado and other local establishments where you're more likely to leave with your moneys-worth and a cherished memory.

Website lures you with false claims

Website says $3.50 a pint happy hour, bartender/ menu says $5.00. Food mediocre at best. Avoid!

Great for a laid back evening

I'm admittedly biased towards Mulleady's as it is within walking distance of my house. It's definitely my pub of choice, and without a doubt one of my favorite places to spend an evening. I don't go there cause the food is fabulous, since I think it's somewhat naive to expect fine dining at a pub. But I go there because it has great ambience. After years of going to the Irish Emigrant and Finn MaCools, both more sports bar than pub, I relish the laid back attitude at Mulleadys. The staff is always friendly, the Guinness is poured well, and the french fries are fabulous. All you really need in a good pub. Plus, trivia night on Mondays is always a good time!! And on a side note, it's a vast improvement over the Mulleadys that it was a few years ago, in the small cramped space across the street, which has given way to condos.

Lame

Mulleady's is proof that there's more to an Irish pub than simply having Guinness on tap and Irish knickknacks on the walls. This place was lame. The food left much to be desired. The 'County Longford Lamb Stew' resembled a French lamb stew more than an authentic Irish dish. It was full of potatoes, with barely a piece of lamb in the entire bowl. I'm serious - by the time I was done, I didn't remember one good chunk of lamb. In addition, it was tomato-based (hence the resemblance to a French dish), and I'd be surprised if there was any Irish stout in it. I've had true Irish stew many times, including at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin, but this dish almost made me embarrassed to be Irish. The Halibut Fish and Chips were unremarkable at best. The halibut was obviously pre-battered and frozen, like the kind you can get in the freezer section at Costco. If this wasn't the case, then it was so badly prepared and/or horribly overcooked that I couldn't tell the difference. The dish certainly didn't stand up to other solid fish & chips made nearby (like at Little Chinooks), and was almost insulting in this town of great seafood. Seattle has far too many great restaurants, bars, chefs, and bartenders to waste one evening eating dinner here. I'm a dual citizen of Ireland and the USA; Mulleady's somehow manages to combine the mediocre of both great countries, rather than being any kind of inspiration.
