Old Village Korean Restaurant (Up North)
15200 Aurora Ave N Ste D
Shoreline, WA 98133
With rough wooden tables and really nice staff, this room is like an old-fashioned roadside inn beside the maniacal Aurora traffic. Fresh, traditional Korean food is served with fresh, traditional banchan—an assortment of pickles and appetizers brought in quantity to all customers, including kimchee, seaweed salad, pickled and sauced radish, and Korean-style potato salad. Both the combo-meal bibimbap and yam noodle/stir-fry chap chae are extra good; plump, tasty dumplings are also available, with or without soup. Also: tabletop grills for do-it-yourself meat-making. Beware of—or look for—the thick, intense red-pepper sauce. Old Village is one of the best around.
