The Owl N’ Thistle is a dark and cozy, family-owned Irish pub with lovely brick walls, antique multipane windows, and shelves filled with elegant-looking books no one will ever read (unless they're into outdated law treatises). Bring your rosary: The Owl N' Thistle may or may not be haunted. Also: great fish and chips!

A "regular" attacked us and the staff did nothing.

My husband & I were attacked by "a regular" in this bar. It was Monday & our day off so we decided to go out to have a few shots & play some pool. We have been coming to the Owl & thistle for 3 years now. It's not the nicest place but the staff knows our names & they are nice to us. This guy at the bar starts calling me the b-word & just being really mean to me for no reason. I thought socializing w/ people is ok when drinking at a bar. So we leave. Then realized I didn't have my sweater, which is still missing. We walk inside to look around & the guy attacks my husband, rips his shirt & then we get kicked out. WHAT? Standard practice when there has been a fight is to kick out both parties. He is still sitting at the bar, drinking his beer? We were treated terribly...like we had attacked him. I will never give another dime to these people. I no longer feel safe in The Owl & Thistle. This drunk guy should have been cut off a long time ago. Instead, WE were disrespected, I was called names, my husband was attacked & thrown to the ground, the drunk guy ripped his shirt, I was unable to get my belongings & then we were kicked out with no support from the staff. Terrible experience, if you go to this bar, watch your back.

Great pub!

This is one of my favorite places to go in all of Seattle. It has a great atmosphere, and a little of something for everyone. There's live music, a dining area with lots of character, great food at decent prices (coming from a poor college student, a bit much but large portions) and the happy hour is not to be beaten. Pretty average beer selection, but the rest of it makes up for that. One of the local gems of Seattle!
