THURSDAY MAY 2

THE SOCIAL

Matt Anderson loves to spin records. Matt Anderson loves to make music. Matt Anderson also loves to get buck wild on the dance floor. Matt and guests throw down some house that is so soulful you'll wanna slap yo' mamma, in a setting so intimate you can bring her along! Lulu's, 421 Second Ave, 342-9457.

FRIDAY MAY 3

PHATSO PRIDAYS

For me, grooving to DJ Riz for the first time was kind of an initiation into the Seattle dance scene. Riz knows how to put together a set that can move people that have never stepped foot on the dance floor, as well as people that live inside of speaker cabinets. Get out there and show some love! Re-bar, 1114 Howell St, 233-9873.

SATURDAY MAY 4

UNITING SOULS AND VIVA! RECORDINGS PRESENTS: LIFE

I have a CD of tracks produced by Moulton Studios out of S.F. that has been stuck in my stereo for a while now. Every track is soulful, with immaculate production qualities. Tonight Jay-J of Moulton studios is going to be spinning deep, lovely house at the Baltic Room, along with the support of Reid Okumura and Jeromy Nail. The Baltic Room, 1207 Pine St, 625-4444.

INSOMNIA

If you miss Jay-J's set at the Baltic or don't leave the house until 2 a.m., you can catch him here after hours. Three rooms of music, go-go dancers, fire twirlers, and that one guy who needs to get off the stage. The Bohemian, 111 Yesler Way, 227-1514, 2-8 am.

SUNDAY MAY 5

VIXENS OF VINYL

Noc Noc is becoming one of my favorite watering holes. It's candlelit with high ceilings, and "downtown" enough to hold no pretensions. Tonight Miss Funk, Emily Song, and Mini Funk are spinning house, breaks, and speed garage. Noc Noc, 1516 Second Ave, 223-1333.

TUESDAY MAY 7

APPETITE

If you heard Brian Weber DJ at Beatfreak or Broken Beats you'll know that he has a true understanding for music both as a DJ and as a musician. I personally love it when he throws down some soul hammers, which I'm sure he'll do tonight in the Alibi Room's intimate basement bar. The Alibi Room, 85 Pike St, 623-3180.

WEDNESDAY MAY 8

ROBO.TRASH

Calling all freakazoids to the dance floor. The Baltic Room, ORAC Records, and Zion's Gate put on a night of experimental live p.a. and DJ sets that is always a great way to kick your hump day right in its big ass. Tonight is a live p.a. set from Module, and DJ sets from Jerry Abstract and Randy Jones. The Baltic Room, 1207 Pine St, 625-4444.
