THURSDAY OCTOBER 6

STEVE LAWLERPopular British Global Underground artist Lawler is one of the few mega-club progressive-house DJs I can stomach, due to his penchant for infusing dark, tribal shades to the genre's typically innocuous pastels. He's supporting his "quite all right, actually" double disc Lights Out 3. With Toronto's Sean Miller. Trinity, 111 Yesler Way, 447-4140, 9 pm–2 am, $15, 21+.

FRIDAY OCTOBER 7

MIGUEL MIGSTouring behind his new mix CD, Get Salted Volume 1, Migs reliably delivers mellifluous, vocal-heavy house sets lovingly selected to get your smoothest groove on. Migs leaves the friction out of his tracks to better enable clubbers to cause their own friction after the show. This buttery, smiley-faced house ain't my bag, but Migs's mastery of the form is undeniable. Moving to his sets is like driving on a newly paved highway. With Lisa Shaw, Wesley Holmes, Jeromy Nail. Trinity, 111 Yesler Way, 447-4140, 10 pm–3 am, free before 10, $15 after, 21+.

SATURDAY OCTOBER 8

JEFF SAMUELThe city's most explosive techno monthly, Krakt, welcomes Jeff Samuel, who's DJed in some of the world's finest clubs and recorded for said world's most prestigious labels (Trapez, Spectral, Karloff, Poker Flat). All the travel and intense studio time have honed Samuel's skills to fluorescent brilliance; he's never failed to dazzle me behind the decks with his fortuitous selections and immaculate transitions. Samuel can finesse you with bubbly, bloopy microhouse or pummel you senseless with ballistic techno from the world's savviest beat scientists. Odds are he'll opt for the latter approach tonight. Proceeds from this gig go to the Katrina Survivors Fund. With Jerry Abstract, Kristina Childs, Paul Edwards. Re-bar, 1114 Howell St, 233-9873, 10 pm–2 am, $3, 21+.

TUESDAY OCTOBER 11

OSCILLATE, HALOU, BLOODWIRESan Francisco's Halou write keyboard/strings-heavy songs that split the difference between Cocteau Twins' diaphanous sugarwalls of sound and Moloko's languid triphop dynamics. Rebecca Coseboom's voice flutters around your head like a silky scarf and the whole kaboodle's like a sonic manifestation of a romantic swoon in an old European city at twilight. Baltic Room, 1207 E Pine St, 625-4444, 9 pm–2 am, $3, 21+.
