The staff is of the young, hot variety and the food comes in only medium-huge portions on cool-looking tin trays, with sides nested in matching cylinders. Even though no one's calling you "honey," the hospitality's still fine, and the pulled pork is almost falling-apart tender, with crisped edges here and there.

Good stuff

While I wouldn't consider myself a BBQ connoisseur I have tried a number of local joints and so far this is my favorite. I use the basic BBQ pork sandwich as the litmus test and Pig Iron does it right. Basic white bread bun, good amount of shredded pork, good basic smoky sauce that isn't loaded with corn syrup, and my favorite touch is the thinly-sliced white onions and pickle that come on the side. My BBQ peeve is sauces that are way too sweet and this is no problem here. The chipotle sauce is especially nice. Some day I'll get my cholesterol down enough to try their sweet potato fries. Yum! The coleslaw is OK but could use a little something. The BBQ beans are really good, straddling the line perfectly between sweet and smoky. The service is always friendly and the place seems to attract a combination of the Georgetown stereotype and SODO area worker.

The Real Deal

I am lucky enough to have been eating Pig Iron owner Michael Lucas's cooking for a long while now. I ate his first Jalepeno spinach casserole over 10 years ago down in Austin Texas, and have been hooked ever since. Pig Iron BBQ brings you instantly to southern lazy days of slow smoked tender meat rubbed just right, Ice cold beer (and a shot o' firewater)and tall tales told over picnic tables. The food is epic, the drinks are original and yummy, the scene is down home and laid back. My personal favorites are the Baby back ribs and try the Roasted Jalepenos for starters!

I ate there on my way through town.

I live in the Midwest/South where BBQ is an artform and I got to say Pig-Iron tops anything I've had out here. Also, I've got a condiment fetish and I appreciate the ample amounts of various sauces that they make available. They want you to leave satiated and with a smile.If those sauces came as a powder instead of a liquid I'd snort'em like blow.

I love their mashed potatos and the pulled pork. they need to add corbread and cheer up the help.

Damn that's fine BBQ

Ya'll git down to the Pig Iron in Georgetown, NOW! Homemade BBQ, the real stuff. PLUS even if you're a veggie you can get awesome yam fries, spinach cassarole to die for, bbq beans...and they stock not only great (or cheap) beer (to your taste!) but old school soda in bottles such as Bubble Up, RC Cola, and Green River! And the owners and employees are not only super great peeps but they're CUTE as HELL too! What's stoppin' ya, yo! Haul ass!

Damn Fine Bar B Que not just for the Flesh eaters

A definitely have to eat at, the best bar-b-que sauce on the West Coast. As we well should know about since we live part time in Southern California and the other time in Seattle. My husband the flesh eater loves the BBQ pork and he makes a mean one himself, so he knows Great BBQ and Pig Iron has GREAT BBQ. Myself the veggie of the household, kills for their BBQ salad I order it WITHOUT the flesh and the salad rocks the house. I am hoping one day they will bottle their speciality house dressing, like they do their BBQ sauce which my husband buys bottles by the dozen to take to our home in Cali. PIG IRON IS WORTH A VISIT THE BAR B QUE ROCKS!!!!! (They are vegetarian friendly) And a Gal can never have to many Mojito Sweet Teas!

Remarkable Food

I was in Seattle for a weekend, and me and a friend stopped by the Pig Iron on the way out of town - what a find. I had the fried green tomato sandwich, and my buddy had the pulled pork, both of which were absolutely incredible. The side dishes and sauces were great, and the service was even better. These guys should consider a franchise here in San Antonio - they'd give these Texas BBQ joints a run for their money.

Best Damn BBQ in Seattle

Do yourself a favor, and get to Pig Iron for some damned fine BBQ. The babybacks are the best in town! Pulled pork sandwich also rocks... Your choice of sauce, flavorful but not overpowering. And don't pass on the sides. The spinach casserole is the best kept secret in South Seattle. You will NOT be disappointed!

The best in Sweet Potato Fries and Jalepeno Poppers

YUM! The Pig Iron "Rockabilly" BBQ is the best place to spend a lunch hour. If you work near by, you gotta stop in. THe food is to die for, the service is great, and the hotrods parked outside by the patrons are as good as any carshow~

Hotrods, Greasers, Pin-ups & BBQ

If you're looking for authentic BBQ in Seattle, Pig Iron is by far the place for it. The atmosphere is hip, the staff is friendly, and the food is the best!

Oh the spinach caserole!!

I would do anything for that spinach caserole!! Not to mention the great laid atmosphere, killer BBQ (really unique sauce flavor), and excellent staff! Well worth the drive south if you're not down there already!

Just like a BBQ restaurant ought to be

Unassuming and a little gritty with great sauces, pulled pork and sweet tea. Yum! Plus, they have a vegetarian option (fried geen tomato bbq sandwich) for you veggies out there. You don't find that at many southern restaurants.

LOVE ♥

We are a family of 5 and this place has something each of us love! Ribs for dad and the boy (they love to eat with their hands and get a little messy!), pulled chicken for our finicky little girls and a huge salad with avacado, corn, catfish and honey mustard for me!! Plenty of space for our little ones plus beer, wine and cocktails for us! My husbands company used them to cater a work party too--it was the perfect set up and everybody loved it. Can't beat Pig Iron!
